A Little Extra
A Little Extra
A Little Extra is a boutique PR & events agency with a dedicated, results driven team of communication professionals. While the name A Little Extra found its origins in its principal’s tongue in cheek description of her petite stature, it is also indicative of its dedication to providing:
• A Little Extra support when your marketing team is stretched to the limit
• A Little Extra when you want to outsource your PR needs to a company that will work as an extension of your own
• A Little Extra professionalism and service
• A Little Extra value for your marketing dollars
• And of course, more than A Little Extra in results.
A Little Extra has a “can do” approach steeped in a culture of honesty and integrity.
While many PR companies give the industry a bad name with their empty promises given that publicity exposure can never be guaranteed, we work hard developing strong campaigns to deliver real results. We promise nothing yet deliver a lot!

About Michelle Myers, A Little Extra
As the name implies A Little Extra is a boutique PR and special events company offering “a little extra” in professionalism, personalised service, attention to detail, creativity and special effort.
At just 155cms, Michelle Myers is literally a little extra who has lived and breathed PR for 30 years.
Michelle began specialising in media promotions and publicity early in her career. After starting out as a journalist for B&T Marketing, Advertising & Media Weekly, she went on to join radio 2KA in time for its move from Katoomba and launch into Western Sydney and then later, was employed by 2GB to launch a major new format.
Michelle then broadened her experience working in PR management roles for several major companies – Max Factor, National Panasonic Australia and CEL Home Video. During this time Michelle was responsible for maintaining and building each company’s public profile by undertaking both corporate and product publicity, organising and promoting major product launches, identifying sponsorship opportunities and nurturing investment in a range of national sporting events, major exhibitions and conferences.
Later Michelle joined Grace Bros/Myer as Company Special Events Manager where she was responsible for developing and implementing all special events from seasonal promotions to generating exciting events to support major merchandising promotions.
In 1989, Michelle opened the doors to A Little Extra offering creative writing services, special events and publicity to a wide range of companies. As A Little Extra prides itself on personal service, Michelle has chosen to have only a limited number of clients. This way she can service each one personally, supported by her close team of highly qualified professionals.
Meet the team…
Christine Stani – Fifteen + years consulting with the company has made Christine a big part of A Little Extra. She boasts 20 years industry experience having previously worked for Swarovski, Elizabeth Arden, Goldwell and Mills & Boon. She is appreciated by clients and media alike, for going above and beyond expectation with her “can do” approach and willingness to always do so much more than a little extra.
Vanessa Strangio – In her eighth year with the team, she is a favourite among clients. On her first solo campaign, she secured 65 interviews for the three day visit of the world’s foremost Monopoly expert who was astounded by the media interest she garnered, stating that it was unequalled in any other country he had visited.

Tracey Spicer, Journalist & Broadcaster
In my role as Senior Producer with Today Tonight, I have worked with Michelle Myers for nearly a decade. She is without a doubt my favourite Public Relations person to work with.
Always on the ball and on hand, the shoots we have worked on together have gone like a dream. Considering they usually involve a room full of children, toys and watchful parents – its a miracle they run as smoothly as they do. But Michelle’s attention to detail, hands on approach and ability to work under pressure in the middle of a maelstrom is testament to her abilities as a communicator and ‘people person’. In this regard, she is without par. I look forward to working with her again. And you dont say that about many ‘PR People!’
Darren Ally, Senior Producer, Today Tonight
I first met Michelle when I was publisher of kid’s magazine DMAG, and I was always really impressed with the creative promotional ideas she pitched to me for her client Hasbro, her persistence to ensure coverage in the magazine and her management skills in seeing it through.
When I decided to employ a publicist for the magazine, naturally my first thought was of A Little Extra. Michelle worked tirelessly to build the profile of the magazine, securing regular promotion for us on children’s TV networks and in national and regional press.
Deborah Dickson-Smith, Publisher

A Little Extra, headed by the dynamic Michelle Myers is an integral member of our Hasbro team. We have worked together for the past 12 years and Michelle has headed our PR and publicity with distinction, creativity and dedication over this period. As our consumers have changed, so has the need to deliver our message in new and innovative ways, Michelle is an expert at guiding us to make the best decisions. We have many examples of her ability to cut through: promotion of our Monopoly brand beyond traditional media, new product launches, Toy Fair publicity and many more. She over delivers on time and on budget. A Little Extra delivers on all fronts; they are a valued and trusted partner.
David Peattie, Managing Director, Hasbro Australia Limited
As an international company based in Hong Kong we needed a public relations partner we could trust to represent us in Australia when we opened our first five food & beverage outlets in Australia in 2010. After considering several agencies, we chose A Little Extra to organise our opening events and manage our public relations and were thrilled with their professionalism, creativity and results. They certainly delivered more than a little extra to ensure our very special launch events were truly memorable, overseeing every aspect from managing staging and audio visual production and lining up exceptional talent to inviting and managing an eclectic mix of VIP and media guests. Our restaurant partners including the management of Montreux Jazz Café who attended from Switzerland, Jared Ingersol of Dank Street Depot and Michael Potts of Bambini Wine Room were equally happy with the high caliber of the events to launch their new outlets at Sydney International Airport. Since the openings, A Little Extra has continued to gain considerable exposure in the media for outlets with their proactive and creative approach to publicity.

“At variety we were missing out on media opportunities until we were introduced to A Little Extra. Michele Myers and her enthusiastic and well-connected team have changed all that for us and we would recommend A Little Extra for any media events.”
Stuart Telfer, Motoring Events Manager (NSW) variety, the children’s charity
I began working with Michelle and the team at a Little Extra after she came highly recommended to me by key industry media. We needed a company that could create and execute special media events that delivered our key messages and inspiring product launches. Like us, the media were clearly impressed with what A Little Extra delivered which was evident from the excellent media coverage they secured. The result in the media coverage exceeded our publicity expectations and helped to raise brand and specific product awareness. In between product launches, A Little Extra ensured year round media coverage by pro-actively seeking out publicity for our range of coffee makers, kitchen appliances and seasonal products.
Nigel Cornford, Marketing Manager, De’Longhi
Starting a new business back in 2005, I was lucky enough to have Michelle recommended to me for our PR. Michelle was so innovative, maximising our tight budget to the full, creating the buzz we needed to set us in the right direction. When it came to introducing new products, Michelle was the first call we made. Her professionalism was unsurpassed and it is always a pleasure to throw around ideas with her, knowing that she will come back with an original plan that delivers. Michelle and the team at A Little Extra will supply exact that and more.
Karen Gilligan, Director, AussieMurals
We have worked with A Little Extra for the past 12 years. A Little Extra has successfully staged opening events for our exhibitions at Powerhouse Museum, Science Works & Questacon and new product launches for both trade and retail events. Michelle Myers has always delivered excellent results!
Andrew McDougall, Managing Director, AKM Toys
Michelle and her team turned our great campaign ideas into brilliant ones and had the balls to argue with us when our great ideas just weren’t, and always with good reason.
Despite being an external consultant, Michelle added to our organisation’s relationships with media through her extensive knowledge and understanding of our key media targets, and by approaching all our story pitches with ultimate professionalism. An integral part of our organisation, Michelle and her team are clearly driven above all else by achieving results and go the extra mile…including juggling media calls at 4 in the morning. Importantly, they are also a pleasure to work with. Having relocated to London wish we had “a little extra” over here.
Sacha Dench , Communications Director, Landcare
